    What is Loligrad ?

Loligrad is a toy train collection made to be printed with a 3D printer. It is imagined in such a way that you can build freely without predefined factory made instructions.

    The name . . .

The collection got its name from a little girl named Loraine from a village Kovilj in Serbia. This is where the idea actually started. All toys available on the market were pretty limited and expensive. You would get a predefined toy set and it was usually limited to one specific setup.

    The need . . .

One day I was walking down the isle of a supermarket, looking for some toys for Loraine's birthday. I saw a train set which I thought would be beneficial and fun for a little kid of her age. Since the set was pretty limited I decided to go to actual toy stores and look for something more challenging. I was willing to spend a bit more money, but I soon realized that even if I would spend a lot more money on such a toy it would still not be extensive enough. On the other hand, I would like this toy to be something she could keep as a childhood memory.

    The dream . . .

Back in the day when I was a kid, toys were much more fun and creative, but were expensive. Even if the toy wasn’t much of a fun, I would still find some fun in disassembling and reassembling it, trying to upgrade it or use it to make something new. So one of my childhood dreams was to make creative and innovative toys for all ages.

    The idea . . .

This is where Loligrad happened. I started off by picking through my box of old computer and other electronic parts I gathered over the years...
